Human Centric Lighting
Create healthier, more productive spaces with scientifically proven light.
Circadian rythm and dynamic lighting

The sun is the basis of all biological life on earth and light is an important part of everyday life. The natural light is dynamic from sunrise to sunset and it has a great impact on our sense of well-being. To "mimic" these important signals we would typically get from the sun, we need dynamic artificial lighting, which is where human centric lighting (HCL) comes in.
The biological effects of light
Since the 2017 Nobel Price in Medicine was awarded for the discovery of the molecular mechanisms that regulate our circadian rythm, we know that light is crucial for the daily synchronisation of our internal clock.

Different applications of HCL
Many people are spending more than 90% of their lives indoor. Traditional artificial light is fixed from the moment we wake up in the morning at home until we go to bed. It doesn't reflect the intensity, timing, colour and dynamics of natural light.
Tunable white lighting can support natural daylight either by automatically "mimicking" sunlight or by some fixed light scenes to support different situations throughout the day.

In SG we have unique solutions for ‘mimicking’ sunlight during the day and creating the best possible conditions for people staying indoors. We call it Tunable White Lighting. Below you will find some examples of applications.
