Project description

Karlavägen is an old esplanade in Östermalm in Stockholm's inner city and got its name in 1866 from Albert Lindhagen's new city plan. Here, Karlavägen was designated as a new parade street. The lanes are separated by a wide avenue with a walkway in the middle. SG supplied the lighting in connection with a major renovation.

Lighting solution

The Stockholm Traffic Authority wanted to carry out a comprehensive renovation of the park lighting alone.
The choice fell on Ray D, with a design cone in black, textured paint that is dimmed with night-time dimmers at pre-programmed times. The result is an aesthetic solution that respects the history of the site, with all the benefits of today's LED technology and control that provide major energy savings.
