Project description
The management of Lillebælt Hospital has decided to replace the hospital lighting with new luminaires based on LED technology.
The entire replacement process will take three years to avoid disrupting the daily routines at the hospitals. The first stage is now complete and has primarily involved the hospitals in Kolding and Vejle.
Lighting solution
At Lillebælt Hospital in Vejle, 2,100 luminaires have been replaced, mainly with Tripar Medico LED luminaires.
This has reduced energy consumption from 1,082,000 to 296,000 kWh, i.e. by more than 70%.
The payback period is 2.5 years, according to Lillebælt Hospital's own figures and measurements.
All of the new LED luminaires are equipped with DALI control (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface), which makes it possible to dim each individual luminaire from a computer, and new lighting controls have also been installed that help to significantly increase savings.
Says Claus Nordentoft, energy coordinator at Lillebælt Hospital in Vejle:
"We led this very interesting project ourselves, with great help from everyone involved, and we ended up with excellent results that we have learned a lot from.
The collaboration with SG and Lindpro - who supplied and installed the project's LED luminaires - worked very well.
In the beginning, there was some resistance to the new white LED lights, but by ensuring good dialog, transparency, control and a little getting used to, it has worked very well and we have received a lot of good feedback. So we're very happy with the project, and now we're going to continue the process, because a lot of people are asking when it's going to be their turn to get the new, nice, white LED lights."
