Project description

Skøyenhagen Housing Cooperative, Oslo.  Modern lighting in common areas.

The apartment buildings in Skøyenhagen are situated in a peaceful setting, bordered by trees, Hoffsbekken, and neighboring buildings. With park-like outdoor areas and all parking underground, the housing project has a calm and safe atmosphere. The project comprises seven buildings with a total of 208 apartments, spread over five and six stories.

The housing cooperative wanted to modernize the lighting in the common areas to improve lighting conditions and reduce energy consumption. Alt Installasjon, based in Våle outside Tønsberg, carried out the replacement of all lighting in the common areas, completed in the summer of 2024.

Lighting solution

The following SG products were used: Tysnes with sensors in the garage, Artes in stairwells with glass facades, Rax in ceilings in indoor hallways, Arlon on exterior walls, and Arlon Round on freestanding posts in gardens and parks. The project provides better lighting conditions in all common areas, more energy-efficient operation, and a more inviting environment for residents. Calculations show a reduction in electricity consumption of nearly 140,000 kWh per year, corresponding to over 30 percent lower consumption compared to the period before the LED upgrade.
