Project description
Thermia Heat Pumps in Arvika develops and manufactures heat pump systems for heating, hot water, and cooling. At the approximately 10,000 m² production facility, the existing fluorescent lighting needed to be replaced due to high energy consumption, limited availability of replacement parts, and the gradual phase-out of fluorescent tubes from the market.
The goal was to create an energy-efficient lighting solution with better light quality for production. SG Armaturen supplied Arena, a high-performance industrial luminaire developed for industrial and warehouse applications.
Lighting solution
The new lighting system consists of Arena luminaires and is controlled via DALI. The luminaires’ high luminous flux made it possible to dim the lighting during installation while retaining the ability to adjust the light level upward over time to ensure consistent light quality throughout their service life.
Arena delivers up to 161 lm/W and has contributed to an estimated energy savings of 61 percent. Because the existing wiring could be reused, the installation was completed quickly and cost-effectively.
The new lighting creates a better work environment for Thermia’s employees while providing the company with a more sustainable and cost-effective lighting solution. The investment is estimated to have a payback period of three years.
