The lighting in the ÖHK hall no longer met the requirements for elite tournaments, while the club wanted to reduce energy costs. The hall, opened in 1992 with two new full-size halls in 2008, is used by the club's elite men's and women's teams and has room for 1,500 spectators. The club took the initiative to upgrade the lighting, which was over ten years old and did not provide sufficient light for training or matches.
Lighting solution
WH Elektriska, in collaboration with SG Armaturen, delivered the solution. The Arena Sport 4000K luminaire with DALI and protective louvre was chosen, developed specifically for sports halls with advanced lighting control requirements. A total of 63 luminaires were installed 1:1, with easy installation thanks to ready-made cable connections and component boxes. The solution now allows for different light levels, from training to match, and can be switched off completely in unused areas. The lux level has been increased from 250-300 to 1100, while energy consumption is significantly reduced.
