Project description
Mega El in Dalarna was commissioned to develop a new concept for Friskis&Svettis Borlänge in connection with a major expansion and renovation of the facility. The project included three fitness halls with different functions and activity levels, where each hall would have its own expression and atmosphere. Friskis&Svettis has a common design concept for its gyms, with clear guidelines for colors, materials and overall experience. In Borlänge, one hall was newly built, while two existing halls were renovated and adapted to new needs.
Fastighets AB Hushagen was the client, with Dala Byggsam as the contractor and Mega El i Dalarna responsible for the electrical work. The various halls are designed for everything from energetic group classes and dancing to calm yoga sessions and heavier strength training. The aim has been to create inspiring training rooms that give members a better experience and strengthen the identity of the facility. The result is three clear and functional training halls, adapted to both activity, users and overall concept.
Lighting solution
The lighting solution has been carefully adapted to the function and expression of the various halls and is made up of selected luminaires from SG Armaturen. In Nya salen, the modular system solution Lineal is used as a distinctive design element, combined with Sense 800 pendant in the middle and Tube Eco spotlights along the walls to provide both energy and uniform lighting. In Spegelsalen, with its high ceilings and calm activity, Disc 760 has been chosen to bring the light down into the room while creating a soft and comfortable atmosphere.
In Stora Hall, the Ruler system is used in straight lines for a tighter expression, supplemented with the Bell luminaire to break up the lines and create zones in the room. All the halls are equipped with DALI control and 4,000 kelvin, which provides flexibility and the possibility of different lighting scenes adapted to activity and use. All in all, this provides comprehensive and well thought-out lighting that enhances the sense of space, function and training experience.
