Wood HUB Odense

Project description

A new and unique construction project in the area around Lerchesgade and Storms Pakhus in Odense. It will be Denmark's largest wooden building to date, with a total of 1,600 workplaces. The six-storey office building will set a new standard for construction in the country. This is the first time that a building of this size has been constructed in wood in Denmark.

The aim is to create buildings and urban spaces that can change and improve the way we live and work together.

The massive wooden structure has been adapted to its surroundings with visible wooden columns and by being highest in the middle and then stepping down towards the surrounding buildings.

The façade is clad in recycled aluminium in reddish-brown shades that harmonise with the classic brick façades in the neighbourhood. The ground floor will house public-oriented functions, and the building's street-facing areas will promote urban life, including through access to the wooden building's inner gardens.

Lighting solution

Sense Pro 300x1200 was supplied for offices and meeting rooms for the project. Disc 290 and Disc 480 were used in the canteen and meeting rooms to create an airy and elegant look in the common areas.

Rax Soft 200 was installed in toilets and café areas, and Wave 1200 provides functional lighting in technical rooms. Tynes 66 was chosen for the parking basement due to its low power consumption, high light output and long service life.

Approximately 250 metres of specially designed Line light 75x75 mm aluminium profiles were installed in the stairwells. Approximately 66 specially designed Lineal Surface Black Cubic 1200 mm were supplied for the meeting room.

Approximately 75 metres of Lineprofile with attached Stripline LED strips were used in the entrance area. Sense Clean was chosen for the kitchen to ensure good, energy-efficient light quality.

Frame Round Maxi was used for outdoor areas, stairwells and basements. In addition, 19 Artes Midi fixtures in special colours were used for the entrance areas.

SG Armaturen is proud to have worked closely with Linde El to supply products for a future-oriented project that focuses on people and the environment and aims to achieve low energy consumption and high visual comfort – tailored to both user needs and the architectural framework.
