Project description

Gävle Concert Hall is a versatile venue hosting concerts, conferences, and exhibitions. The existing lighting in the foajé and main areas was outdated, inefficient, and increasingly difficult to maintain, with halogen lamps that no longer provided sufficient light or flexibility. The hall wanted to create a more dynamic environment, with the ability to change light colors in the foajé depending on the type of event, while also reducing energy consumption. The challenge was to develop a solution that would fit into the existing ceiling openings, blend seamlessly with the architecture, and provide modern, user-friendly lighting control.

Lighting solution

SG Armaturen, in collaboration with Granitor Gävle, delivered a custom RGBW downlight solution based on the Rax Soft 200 model. The downlights were installed in the existing ceiling holes for a clean and discreet finish. The system is controlled via KNX with pre-programmed light scenes, allowing staff to easily adjust color and intensity for different events. The solution enhances the atmosphere, increases energy efficiency, and provides a visually striking effect visible both inside and through the large glass façades.

“We can now quickly and easily change light color and atmosphere depending on the type of event, from lunch restaurant to club setting in an instant,” says Owe Davidson, Technical Manager at Gävle Concert Hall.
