Project description

Grønland Church is a historic landmark in Oslo, known for its fine architecture and central location. The church is actively used for concerts and events, and its open location with surrounding green areas makes it extra important that both the building and the outdoor area are well lit. SG Armaturen supplied a new lighting solution to emphasize the church's expression while creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere. The project was carried out in collaboration with the Oslo Church Council and the local congregation, with engineer Hans Becker as the client.

Lighting solution

For the project, special variants of Wax were supplied in a black version with a 13-degree spread, 48W and 3000K. In addition, Wax with a 50-degree lens was used to create a more even light pattern on larger surfaces.

The result is a warm and atmospheric lighting that both ensures safety around the area and highlights the qualities of Grønlandkirke.
